First, go to Malcolm's office in the medical clinic. His office is all the way back on ground floor to the right. It's the same room where the morphine pills are located when you go to steal them during The Pain of Being Mercurio. Access the computer, login with the password "panacea", and read the email titled "Tonight?". It details Dr. Malcolm's affair with a woman named Paige.
After reading this, go talk to Malcolm, and blackmail him. He'll be resistant to giving you money at first but eventually he'll yield. You can demand $75.00 or, with an Intimidation skill of three, $150.00. However, he can't give it to you right there because he's in the middle of dealing with a patient. He will drop it off at the Pawnshop Lodgings mailbox later. Visit your haven anytime after blackmailing him to collect your reward.
- If you have downloaded the Plus Patch, the dialogue stays the same in that Malcolm is told to put the money in the Protagonist's mailbox, but the money clip isn't there. Instead, the money clip is at the end of the hallway of Santa Monica Suites, behind the left plant at the end of the hall (near Mercurio's door).
