A Mass Embrace is the action of multiple vampires siring fledglings en masse in a single uncontrolled event.
Bloodlines 2 opens up with unknown vampires swooping down from the rooftops into Pioneer Square in Seattle to conduct a Mass Embrace, which, due to the generation of the siring vampires, will convert the humans into thin bloods. This act is illegal, as siring vampires without approval from elders is seen as an act of defiance, and dangerous, as thin bloods are seen as a liability to the masquerade. The Bloodlines 2 protagonist is one of the humans converted during this Mass Embrace.
The newly thin-blooded protagonist is then escorted to trial and brought before a council made up of clan and faction representatives in which the protagonist recounts the events that they believed took place. This is followed by pending execution for the protagonist as the result of an unsanctioned siring. However, a fire unexpectedly blazes through the courthouse and implodes the trial scene, prompting the protagonist to flee in the underbellies of the Seattle Underground.
