Mudd Hunt is a quest available in Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.

This quest starts automatically after completing Jumpin' the Bail for Arthur Kilpatrick.

Walkthrough

Brief

1. Go to apt 2 in Skyeline Apartments.
2. Listen to the answering machine message.
3. Go to the building across from the Last Round.
4. Speak to the homeless man. +1 Exp
5. (Optional) Convince the homeless man to tell no one what he saw. Masquerade Redemption
6. Pick up the Luckee Star key next to the body.
7. Go to room 6 at the Luckee Star Motel and witness Muddy's murder. +2 Exp
8. Quest Complete

Detailed

Downtown

Enter apartment two in the Skyeline Apartments either by using the vents or picking the lock on the door (lock difficulty 5). Pick up the two car stereos and then listen to the answering machine. Also go to the bedroom and take Kendo For Advanced Students from the floor. The message on the machine mentioned "a warehouse across from the bar by the underpass". Head to the Last Round and enter the warehouse across from it.

You'll find another gruesome murder scene in the style of Carnival of Death. Talk to the homeless guy and he'll confess that he saw a man step from the shadows and tear the victim apart. +1 Exp. Persuade or Intimidate him into keeping his mouth shut if either skill is at least five Masquerade Redemption. Go up by climbing the boxes letting down the ladder and pick up the Luckee Star room key and the car stereo from the ground near Mr. Milton's corpse. This quest is continued in chapter 3 when Hollywood is unlocked.

Hollywood

Go to room six at the Luckee Star Motel and use the key you found at the Downtown murder scene. You'll witness Muddy's murder +2 Exp. The killer flees and it seems like this is another gruesome murder of the serial killer. Pick up the Brothers' Salvage business card to get your next lead. This quest line is concluded during the quest Carnival of Death.

Quest Log Updated: Upon receiving quest. While trying to find "Muddy" Mike Durbin for Arthur Kilpatrick, you heard an answering machine message that said he is headed downtown to the Skyeline Apartments, 2A, the residence of Mr. Milton. Even though Arthur has cut you loose, maybe you can get some money for finding him.
Quest Log Updated: Upon listening to answering machine. You went to the Skyeline Apartments to look for "Muddy", but he wasn't there. Instead you heard another message telling Durbin and Milton to meet someone at an unknown location, across the street from a bar.
Quest Log Updated: Upon viewing Milton's body. You found the shredded body of Milton at an abandoned warehouse, the scene of the latest grisly murder. The bum witnessed the killing and told you the killer grew claws and ripped the victim apart while saying something about "revenge".
Quest Log Updated: After picking up the key. You found the shredded body of Milton at an abandoned warehouse, but Durbin was nowhere to be found. You did find a key to the Lucky Star motel, though.
Quest Log Updated: Upon completion. You finally located "Muddy" Mike, though you won't be collecting any bounty money, as he's become the latest victim of the serial killer. Quest Complete
